YouthBuild St. Petersburg
Description:
YouthBuild St. Petersburg is a comprehensive vocational skills and leadership development program, providing hands-on skills development and training in the building and construction trades. This is accomplished through the rehabilitation of existing homes or the construction of new ones. Other core components include: basic adult education training leading to GED achievement, leadership skills and pre-employment/work maturity skills training.
Entry Criteria:
To be eligible for YouthBuild St. Petersburg, an individual must meet the following criteria:
- 16-24 years of age
- Resident of the City of St. Petersburg, living in the targeted neighborhood of 4th Street to 49th Street and 30th Ave. South to 13th Ave. North
- Able to make a one-year commitment to the program
- Unemployed or underemployed and low income, without a high school diploma
- Have interest in building/construction skills training
